10,000 lb Tow hooks


I wasn't impressed when the TJ came with cheezy 7k lb tow hooks, that didn't have strap keepers on them. We went down to 4WPW and picked up 3, 10k tow hooks with keepers.

Upgrading tow hooks is a simple bolt on deal, very easy. To fit them onto the TJ however, you'll need to carve out a channel in the rubber bumpers for them.

You may have notice I said we bought '3' tow hooks above, but there are only two mounting places for them in the front. We plan to add a tow hook in the back, because there is nothing but the bumper in the back to hook a strap to. Jeep left an extra hole in the bumper suppots (thank you Jeep) so that you can mount a tow hook. You'll need to buy one bolt, and the other bolt is shared by the bumper. Unfortunately the bolt that also hold the bumper on is too short to also fit through the tow hook. Until we get around to getting a longer bolt, we won't have the rear tow hook mounted.
