Cobra CB/Firestick Antenna
Left: CB             Right: Antenna mount (stainless steel)

The CB and antenna was purchased at Quements in San Jose. This is one of the few CB shops left in the area, and I've had great luck with this shop. The CB, Antenna, cable, and mount was about $90.

The CB is a Cobra 19 DX. This is the replacement to the Ultra 19 I believe. We had fantastic results using the Ultra 19 w/ a 4' Firestick antenna Scott's 4Runner, so we went for the same combination for the TJ. Of course the CB's range depends on weather, and the terrain, but we're usually heard loud and clear at 5+ miles.

The mount (which is hard to see) is drilled right into the spare tire holder, next to the 3rd brake light. Unfortunately the nuts holding the spare tire must be loosened to get the antenna off/on, but the setup works well for us, and amost guarentees the antenna will never be stolen.

The mounting place for the CB is FAR from ideal, and does take some of the passenger's leg room away, but this is only a temporary location. We couldn't decide where it should be, and didn't want to put any holes where they'd be seen if we weren't positive that's where the CB would stay. The CB may stay there though, because it's only in the vehicle when it's gonna get used.
