Hollister Hills - 4/18/98
![]()
We really hadn't planned to go to Hollister this day,
but we had to go the Jeep dealer in Gilroy for parts. Since we were so
close to Hollister we couldn't resist going down to Hollister to get a
few new shots for the web page. We'd just put the summer tops on the Jeep
for the first time the night before, so we wanted to have a little fun
before we had to put the hard top back on.

The
first thing we did upon entering the park was to get it crossed up in the
creek, and take a few shots.

I
was a little too used to driving my 4Runner, I guess I got a
little too argressive in Jenn's TJ, and promptly 'smooshed' the plastic
piece on one end of the rear bumper. Then I promptly got yelled at for
'smooshing' her Jeep. (lucky for me she was half kidding)
Here's
a little 'alternate route' I like to take in my 4Runner on the way to Truck
Hill. Her TJ makes it look so easy....doesn't even lift a wheel.

We
were pleasantly surprised to run into Chris and Kevin, whom I met only
a week ago at Hollister. Truck Hill was TOOOO easy this day. The park crew,
had driven the dozer over it a few times, and completely leveled it. The
HUGE crack at the bottom of the hill had also been filled....it looked
like a parking lot. I was disappointed to say the least...I would much
rather they had left it alone, as the terrain provided a great challenge.

Lucky
for us they hadn't leved the crack near the staircase in the obstacle course,
so we entertained ourselves for awhile getting the TJ crossed up, and seeing
how far up the crack we could cross.

I
was having a blast here...we got the TJ crossed just perfect, and by standing
on the tire I could get the Jeep to balance on two wheels, with the other
two wheels a foot off the ground.
